JAY Slater’s “desperate” family have vowed to continue their search in Tenerife until the missing teenager is found.
Jay’s uncle requested additional contact with police on the Spanish island, while family members and some volunteers carried out their own searches on foot.

The 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer was last seen on June 17, after leaving an Airbnb in the small northern village of Masca to walk back to his home, which would have taken him 11 hours.
Members of his family and a small number of volunteers are now carrying out impromptu on-foot searches after police halted the official land hunt on June 30.
Jay’s uncle, Glen Duncan, 41, described the family’s situation as “just hopeless – hopeless”.
Duncan said the family feels abandoned and when asked if he wanted help from police in the UK, he replied: “We would love to do that, but it’s not that simple.”
He told Sky News: “So far we have just contacted the British consulate here, who have said it is still a real-time investigation, we just have to wait.”
