Mobile dog grooming company-turned-salon Scenthound recently opened its first Tennessee location in Franklin.

The canine wellness center takes a health-focused approach to all services, offering traditional care with a 6-point wellness check, officials said.

“We have seen tremendous growth and acceptance from the Birmingham community, with 3,000 monthly members, and we look forward to offering these services to Franklin residents and their dogs,” said Scenthound owner Jacob Lee.

Business partners Lee and Brett Basik hope to further expand the business in Tennessee after Franklin, they said, noting that Brentwood was selected as a priority for a future location.

“Our goal is to be a step between a groomer and a veterinarian, offering top-notch treatments and quality care. As a proud Tennessee native, I am excited to expand our services to Franklin, with more locations in the pipeline,” said Lee.

Scenthound focuses on five main areas of maintenance: skin, coat, ears, nails and teeth. Its mission is to provide exceptional care to all dogs, keeping them healthy and clean, and to be a trusted provider for all dog owners, officials say.

Lee and Basik currently own and operate four locations in the Birmingham area, with 20 locations planned in Alabama and Tennessee. Eight of these sites are planned in Middle Tennessee.

Subscriptions start at $49 per month and include a Basic Hygiene package: bath with towel drying, ear cleaning, nail trimming, teeth brushing, and 6-point wellness check. Other services such as hair loss treatments, problem skin treatments and haircuts can be added. Appointments can be made online.

The Franklin location is at 2020 Fieldstone Parkway, Suite 800, and is open from 8pm to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays. For more information about Scenthound or to see a full list of services, visit: www.scenthound.com.
