Today’s edition of campaign-related news from across the country.

*Although some recent research has shown donald trumpLeadership over the president Joe Biden growing, a new national NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll finds that the Democratic incumbent with a two point advantage about the former Republican president. (Click the link for information about survey methodology and margins of error.)

* The New York Times reported that members of Team Trump were “thrilled” by Biden’s NATO press conference yesterday afternoon because they considered it good enough to keep the president in the 2024 race. “They predict a landslide victory with Biden as their opponent and prefer that nothing happens that introduces risk, change or uncertainty,” the report added.

* Before the president’s press conference at NATO, Three more Congressional Democrats — Reps. Brad Schneider of Illinois, Ed Case of Hawaii and Greg Stanton of Arizona — have publicly called on Biden to renounce his re-election bid. Around the same time, Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington state suggested that Biden should also resign from office before Election Day.

* After the president’s NATO press conference, the list of Democrats in Congress calling for Biden to pass the torch grew longer: Reps. Jim Himes of Connecticut, Scott Peters of California and Eric Sorensen of Illinois added their names to the intra-party list. This morning, Democratic Representative Brittany Pettersen of Colorado also publicly urged Biden will withdraw.

* In turn, the Biden campaign issued a new memo yesterday, arguing that the president still has a path to electoral success, but a closer look in the document signaled potential problems for Democrats.

* Utah’s Republican governor, Spencer Cox, said this week that I won’t vote for Trump in the fall, planning instead to “sign someone up.”

* Speaking of Utah, Rep. Celeste Maloy appears to have finished with more votes than her recent primary rival, but the tight race is now going to a recount.

* And speaking of recounts, Republican Rep. Bob Good’s apparent defeat in the primary was certified by local election officials, but this week, the chairman of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus filed a petition for a recount.
