Alec Baldwin should have the “human decency to say ‘I’m sorry,'” a lawyer for cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ family said.
Gloria Allred, who represents Ms. Hutchins’ sister and parents in a civil suit seeking damages, made the comment after a criminal homicide. the case against the actor fell apart.
comes as Baldwin shared his first comment since the case was dismissed on Friday.
“There are too many people who have supported me to thank them now,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.
“To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness to my family,” he added.
The manslaughter case against Baldwin for the shooting death of Ms. Hutchins on the set of Rust was dismissed yesterday.

He agreed with his lawyers that prosecutors and police withheld evidence about the source of the live ammunition that killed Ms. Hutchins, 42, in 2021.
He dismissed the case three days after the trial began in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and 18 months after the charges were filed.
The actor burst into tears and hugged his lawyers as the judge handed down the sentence and dismissed the case, based on errors by the police and prosecutors.

At a news conference Saturday, Allred said of Baldwin: “She should have the human decency to say ‘I’m sorry’ on a phone call or on Facetime to parents.
“This was someone’s daughter, someone’s sister.
“It’s not just about Alec Baldwin. There are victims in this case. They’re not celebrities, they matter.”
He described the decision to drop the case as “shocking, devastating” and a “punch in the gut”, adding that it was “a huge disappointment to Halyna’s family” and would increase their “pain and suffering”.
Baldwin had always denied the charges, maintaining that he did not pull the gun’s trigger and that others on the Western film’s set were responsible for the gun’s safety controls.
He faced up to 18 months in prison if convicted.
