Unexploded ordnance found in Assateague, lifeguards clean beach: eyewitness

Unexploded ordnance was found on the beach Sunday at Assateague Island National Seashore, according to an eyewitness.

Ordnance was found near the first parking lot closest to the entrance, according to eyewitness Laura Benedict Sileo, and lifeguards were clearing the area.

Yellow warning tape was also placed at the nearest boardwalk entrance.
