A Briton died on a Greek resort island in a horror crash after a driver plowed into a family walking along the road.
The 47-year-old woman was on vacation with her husband and in-laws in the city of Chania, Crete.
The family was walking along a street in nearby Georgioupolis on Friday afternoon when a driver lost control of the car and ran over the woman and her 54-year-old sister-in-law, local reports said.
The woman was injured in the head, but was rescued by an ambulance while still conscious.
A few hours later, she died at Rethymnon Hospital in the city of Rethmino.
The sister-in-law had serious bruises on her arms and legs.
The car ended up in a field with an image from the scene showing a damaged silver Peugeot next to an olive tree.
