It is also indicative of a witty personality and strong observation skills.
Many believe that deciphering the code of illusions occurs thanks to the power of the brain.
But recent research suggests that success is more closely tied to the eyes.
A 2023 University of Exeter study sought to debunk the notion that the psychological process played such a fundamental role.
Finding solutions has more to do with how the eyes and neurons work, researchers have found.
Sensory evolution expert and paper author Dr Jolyon Troscianko said: “Our eyes send messages to the brain, causing neurons to fire faster or slower.
“However, there is a limit to how quickly they can fire, and previous research has not considered how the limit might affect how we see colors.”
The neurons that connect the eyes to the brain can only handle color contrasts in a ratio of about 10 to 1, Dr. Troscianko said.
Greater contrasts can be seen when neurons combine, but the information in the brain is “compressed” – resulting in the illusion.
Another illusion that recently tested puzzle solvers was a ring hidden between shells.
Those who face this one have 24 seconds to identify it.
One tip is to look for a silver and shiny object.
