JOE Biden cautiously walked down the stairs of Air Force One as he landed in Delaware after testing positive for Covid-19.

The 81-year-old president was forced to withdraw from a campaign event in Las Vegas on Wednesday due to health problems.

The images showed the staggering commander-in-chief, whose re-election bid is at stake, slowly descending the steps of the plane.

Biden, who was not wearing a mask as he exited the plane, appeared to pause several times.

He was clinging to the handrail as he walked down the small steps leading out of the jumbo jet.

Biden walked down the shorter flight of stairs, rather than the long stairs seen when world leaders meet their counterparts at races around the world.

He then got into a black car where he put on a face covering.

Biden returned to the coastal city of Rehoboth Beach, where he will recover.

This comes as pressure mounts from top Democrats to drop out of the presidential race.

Polls suggest Biden is trailing brash tycoon Donald Trump in crucial battleground states – less than four months until Election Day.

Biden was scheduled to speak at a UnidosUS Latino event in Nevada — one of the key battleground states the president is defending.

Janet Murguía, CEO of UnidosUs, told the crowd that the president was disappointed not to be present.

“We really appreciate his wanting to be here – I had a great introduction reminding us of all the actions he took for our community,” she said.

Biden said he was in good spirits and thanked supporters for their well wishes.

The White House revealed that he has mild symptoms and is in isolation.
