Melania and Ivanka Trump made a rare appearance at the Republican National Convention, showing their support for Donald Trump’s presidential bid.

“Thank you, Melania, and thank you also for your beautiful letter to the United States calling for national unity,” she said, referring to the statement that the former first lady issued after the attempt on her husband’s life.

In the absence of Melania and Ivanka, Trump’s teenage granddaughter, Kai Trump, 17, spoke about his “normal grandfather” at the convention Wednesday nightand a grandson sat on his knee as he listened to a parade of speakers praising him Thursday.
