Chilling footage showed the moment an armed woman opened fire on a baby in a pram – moments before the little one’s callous parents fled.
The harrowing clip begins with the gunman approaching the couple and their son, shooting the 7-month-old baby in the leg before fleeing.
The baby’s father was seen fleeing the scene when two bullets flew towards him while the mother remained beside the stroller with her baby.
The boy was being pushed by his parents in a stroller at 5:51 pm Thursday on Meridian Street in Holmesburg, Philadelphia.
The footage shows the woman walking past the mother and child again.
In the clip, she turns and fires a shot just a few feet away from her mother, causing her to scream, “My baby.”
The woman responded by saying, “Fuck your baby, bitch” and walked away.
Once the police arrived, both parents were nowhere to be found and the baby was rushed to a nearby hospital by a neighbor.
Both the father and mother were not injured during the shooting and authorities believed they left the scene because they had warrants out for their arrest.
The couple was found an hour later and both were questioned, with the father eventually being arrested.
Authorities discovered two shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon at the scene, Chief Inspector Scott Small revealed.
Police continue to hunt for the shooter who was caught on camera, but have not yet identified her.
Authorities have not discovered the shooter’s motive.
The neighbor described what happened when the parents handed the baby over to them.
“When I found out the baby was seven months old and both parents said they had warrants, they got out of the car and I took the baby,” he told NBC.
“I just felt like I had to protect this child.
“It was overwhelming. He was scary.
“This person showed up and didn’t care, with no remorse, just shot and walked away as if nothing had happened.”
The neighbor brought the baby to Nazareth Hospital, but authorities transferred him to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
Police revealed that the baby is now in a stable condition.
“You can see what appears to be a man, possibly a woman, long hair, possibly dreadlocks, wearing a dark t-shirt and light blue jeans,” Chief Inspector Scott Small said after observing the footage.
Anyone who sees the suspect should not approach her and contact 911 immediately.
