THE bodies of two children were found by their father stuffed inside a laundry bag in an attack that killed his wife and mother.
The violent scene took place in the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, where police officers discovered the body of Fayzidva Mavlyuda, 56, with multiple stab wounds to the neck on Friday night.
Mavlyuda was wrapped in a blanket, while her grandchildren – Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and Timur Shavkatov, 4 – were also stabbed and stuffed into a laundry bag in the closet.
The children’s mother, Maftuna Khakimova, 27, was found nearby with multiple stab wounds, police said.
Mavlyuda’s 24-year-old son and brother of the children’s father was detained at the scene but has not yet been formally charged.
A terrified neighbor stood outside the apartment door recording the incident, capturing the children screaming for their mother, reported The New York Post Office.
“He keeps asking why didn’t I call the police? Why didn’t I answer the door?” said the neighbor’s father, who did not identify himself.”
“But if he had gone to the door, there would have been five dead.”
Another neighbor, who only gave his name as Paul, said he was smoking outside with some friends.
A few moments later, the children’s father asked Paul and his friends, “Have you seen my family?”
“He ran out… and said ‘My mom’s on the floor, there’s a lot of blood,’” Paul told the Post.
“‘My family disappeared’.”
The children’s father called the police and entered the apartment with detectives, where the brutal discovery was made.
The brother told police that “another person was in the apartment,” before police handcuffed him.
Paul told the outlet that his brother was well-known in the building and didn’t go out often.
“I stayed away from him. He was a big, aggressive guy with a look in his eyes like a crazed bulldog,” he said.
A neighbor told the Post that about a year ago, the brother told people to call him “Sensei.”
“You could tell something wasn’t right with him,” the neighbor told the outlet.
“He stopped smiling, he stopped saying ‘Hi.’ I asked him if something happened and he said, ‘Yes, something with my father.’ He didn’t elaborate.”
Another neighbor said she heard people screaming and had a feeling that “something bad was happening, someone was hurt.”
“I saw three body bags going into the coroner’s car,” Jennifer Ponzi said.
“The father was outside crying a lot. His whole world is destroyed, he lost his mother, his wife and his children,” she said. The daily news.
