Now it’s official: Joe Biden is the first US president since Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1968 to announce that he will not seek re-election.

It was a stunning moment in American political history when the end came.

It was the least surprising thing we’ve ever heard from the president who just almost four years ago received more votes than any other candidate in history (81 million).

The writing has been on the wall since that disastrous performance on June 27th that exposed Biden deterioration in mental fitness that many on the right and even some on the left have been pointing out for several years since the campaign.

In just the last few weeks, Biden has said several things that show the elevator no longer goes to the top floor. Including:

  • Biden, in an interview with BET, forgets the name of Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, on July 18: “It’s all about treating people with dignity. I appointed the Secretary of Defense, the black man.”

“The black…”

  • Biden in an interview with WURD on July 5: “By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, the first black woman, to serve with a black president.”
  • Biden in an interview with Complex, July 16: “Guess what? The number of people seeking to enter the country has dropped lower than at any time he [Donald Trump] was president.”

Several fact checks say this is not remotely true.

  • Biden in an interview with ABC News on July 5 about why he did poorly in the debate: “When I realized that even when I was answering the question, when they turned their [Trump’s] microphone off, he was still screaming, and I let that distract me.”

What. Never. Happened.

The two men were in leaky screens the entire time and trump never yelled at Biden.

  • June 27 presidential debate vs. Donald Trump in Atlanta: “Either way, we defeated Medicare.”

But make no mistake: Democrats did not pressure Biden for the good of the country or out of any concern for it.

If the economy was working well and crime was low and the border was secure and the world wasn’t so unstable with two wars going on, and Biden’s approval rating wasn’t at an all-time low (36%), the party would continue to throw the president out there.

But in this case, they simply I don’t believe he can winhence the change with just over 100 days to go until the election.

Trump leads in all seven critical swing states, but is also within reach or even leading in several other states generally considered safe for Democrats: New Hampshire, New Jersey, Virginia, Minnesota, New Mexico.

What happens next when Joe Biden drops out of the 2024 race?

President Biden has finally heeded calls to abandon his re-election bid, throwing the 2024 election into chaos. He has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, but nominating a new Democratic candidate will not be a simple process. Here’s what’s next after Biden’s stunning announcement.

Biden secured nearly 4,000 delegates by winning the state caucuses and primaries earlier this year. He was supposed to be officially named the Democratic nominee in a virtual vote before the Democratic National Convention, which begins on August 19.

Democratic Party rules do not allow Biden to simply pass his 3,896 delegates to Harris or another candidate.

Harris will now have to convince the nearly 4,000 delegates and 700 superdelegates to support her and nominate her candidate.

However, delegates are free agents who can choose to support any candidate they want – likely without voter input at this stage, since the primaries and caucuses have already been held.

All eyes are now on the previously planned virtual vote – where the Democratic Party could choose a candidate before the DNC begins.

Biden’s support for Harris will likely sway delegates, and no one has publicly challenged her as a candidate — but delegates are not required to support her. Even if virtual voting is not held, the party could still choose Harris or another candidate before the convention.

If Democrats do not nominate their candidate before the DNC, it will be the first open and contested convention since 1968.

And Biden and his team are too slow, too programmed to win back or defend 12 states.

So what happens from here?

Probable vice president Kamala Harris is his nominee, with a governor like Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania.

But Barack Obama will not support Harris, which represents a huge problem considering that the former president is the party’s ultimate power.

But Harris, the border czar, has to answer for his F-minus performance in allowing more than 10 million illegals into the country, including hundreds domestically. FBI horror watch list.

And then, of course, there’s the whole Biden health cover-up, something Harris has always maintained is perfectly fine. It was not.

A weak Joe Biden could not survive a mutiny within his own party.

Now the Democrats want to do it all over again.

But regardless of who the candidate is, nothing changes.

Barring a catastrophe, Donald Trump is its 47th president.
