THIS IS the moment Ukrainian soldiers shot down a Russian Su-25 attack jet.
According to a statement from the Khortysia group, the incident occurred near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast on July 23.
Video of the incident was shared on X (formally known as Twitter).
According to the statement, anti-aircraft units shot down the plane as it attempted to fire at Ukrainian positions.
The Khortytsia group of forces also shared a video that showed an anti-aircraft missile being launched and hitting a plane in the distance.
The Soviet-designed Su-25, nicknamed “Frogfoot” by NATO, is a heavily armored ground attack aircraft.
It was widely used by both sides in Russia’s large-scale war against Ukraine.
