Early voting for the Aug. 6 primary election begins this Saturday across the state.
In 2022, Michigan voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment giving voters the right to vote early and in person at locations before state and federal elections. Communities can also choose to offer early voting for local elections.
Early voting locations will be open statewide from July 27th to August 4th. Below are early voting locations in Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Emmet and Otsego counties.
Charlevoix County
Early voting will be at the Charlevoix County Building, 301 State St., in Charlevoix, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cheboygan County
Early voting will take place in the Cheboygan County Commissioner’s Office in the Cheboygan County Building, 870 S. Main St. in Cheboygan according to the following schedule:

July 27th: 8am to 4pm

July 28th: 12pm to 8pm

July 29: 9am to 5pm

July 30th: 9am to 5pm

July 31st: 9am to 5pm

August 1st: 11am to 7pm

August 2: 9am to 5pm

August 3: 8am to 4pm

August 4: 12pm to 8pm
Chippewa County
Early voting will take place at Soo Township Hall, 639 3 ½ Mile Road in Sault Ste. Maria from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Emmet County
Early voting will take place at the VFW Hall, 599 W. Conway Road in Harbor Springs, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Otsego County
Early voting will take place at Gaylord City Hall, 305 E. Main St., in Gaylord, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
