WITH Vice President Kamala Harris poised to secure the Democratic Party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential race, millions of Americans are turning their attention to her husband.
As America’s second gentleman, Doug Emhoff leads a relatively private life, but a photo from his youth has sparked quite a frenzy on social media.

Emhoff is more than just Kamala’s husband – he’s also skilled, starting out as an entertainment lawyer before becoming a partner at DLA Piper, the third largest law firm in the US by revenue.
In addition to his duties as Second Gentleman, Emhoff also serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and as a Distinguished Fellow at the Georgetown Institute for Technology Law and Policy.
While most of the country’s attention in recent days has revolved around his wife’s historic presidential bid, the 59-year-old made headlines after social media sleuths discovered one of his old photos.
On July 23, Peanut Butter Pretzels, aka @onedankmom, shared a photo of Kamala’s husband on her X account.
“I need Gen Z to see this photo of Kamala’s husband from the 80s and make him white boy of the month on TikTok,” she captioned the posttagging Doug’s official X account, @SecondGentleman.
The photo, reportedly taken in the 1980s, shows a much younger Emhoff looking straight into the camera, his eyebrows furrowed, with a smile that would make Tyra Banks proud.
GO AWAY, EMHOFF!
Her tanned skin, casual blue t-shirt and dark, wavy hair were enough to make social media users swoon.
“Give him an English accent and there will be at least one Taylor Swift album about him,” one user wrote.
“Doug was very handsome,” another user posted.
“Dayum, is this Doug?! Damn,” another user posted.
“Damn!!!” one user commented.
“Um. faint,” another user shared.
Some X users even compared the former Californian – who still has homes in San Francisco and the Brentwood neighborhood in Los Angeles – to a Hollywood star.
“Haha – I thought it was a cast member from Bev Hills 90210!” another user shared.

One user, clearly at a loss for words, posted a gif of a woman pouring a bottle of water over her head.
Other gifs, including one with young Alyssa Milano fanning herself, also appeared in the comments.

I LOVE DOUG
The thirst was clearly contagious, as the post reached more than 1.7 million views and counting, 32,000 likes, more than 2,500 reposts and more than 500 comments as of Wednesday night.
Some users took the opportunity to get a little nostalgic about their youth and younger appearance.
“Ahh, we were all so young once,” shared one user.
“I see this and wonder what happened to my youth. Haha,” added another user.
“This needs to circulate like that young photo of Joe!” one user shared.
They were referring to a similar viral moment when a old photo from President Joe Biden circulated on social media, causing a similar wave of jaw-dropping reactions.
It’s unclear whether Emhoff has seen the photo or whether he is aware of his newfound Internet fame.
Emhoff has yet to post the photo or comment on his Hollywood appearance on his X account, but if the photo continues to gain traction, he may have to face his younger self head-on.
