An Arlington pastor and community leader has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault investigation, police said, and anyone with more information is asked to come forward.

Ronnie Goines, 51, turned himself in to the Tarrant County Jail on Thursday. The Arlington Police Department’s sex crimes unit issued warrants for his arrest on one count of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault.

A woman “created protests” in June, police said, and detectives filed criminal charges against Goines after an investigation. Police said they are limited in the details they can release due to the nature of the case.

Goines is the lead pastor and founder of Koinonia Christian Church, according to its website. He is also a former member of the Arlington Police Department Partnership between clergy and police and previously served in the city Unity Council, said the police. His biography on the church website says he owns an insurance company.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Detective Williams at (817) 459-5312.
