BIZARRE footage has emerged of a Ukrainian drone taking down a Russian spy device with a new piece of military technology – a baton.
A video posted on social media claims to show the view of a Ukrainian drone with first-person view (FPV) chasing the Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a long pole in the skies over Kherson Oblast in the south of the country ravaged by war.

As he approaches the Russian reconnaissance drone – piloted for surveillance and intelligence – he uses the stick to attack its engine.
It repeatedly hits the enemy flying object during a 30 second attack until the engine is disabled, taking it out of action.
It is a reminder of Kiev’s innovation and willingness to try surprise tactics against Putin’s relentless invasion.
Russian surveillance devices are deployed to locate Ukrainian units, helping to coordinate attacks.
They can hover over battle zones, collecting data on where to attack, making them a high priority for elimination.
Fighting in Kherson has been fierce – it was the first city to fall to the invaders in 2022, who attacked from Crimea before being liberated nine months later.
But although it is no longer occupied, the city is regularly hit by drone and artillery attacks.
Another region under constant fire is the east, with UK army chief General Sir Roly Walker warning that Putin will continue to throw bodies into the furnace even to capture just a slice of territory.
Gen Walker predicted it would likely take the dictator another five years to reach the “minimum” targets of reclaiming pockets of Ukraine.
And by that time, almost two million Russians will have been massacred, according to UK projections.
It is estimated that Kremlin forces have already lost 550,000 soldiers since the invasion began in 2022.
The former SAS chief said: “In a long war, there are no winners.
“It is total devastation for both sides and for lost generations.
“If they continue as they are, it will probably take the Russians five years to reach the minimum objectives for the four oblasts (Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk).”
“At the current rate of attrition of dead and injured, that puts them probably well over the 1.5 million casualties to achieve this, with untold billions of equipment lost.”
Defense Secretary John Healey recently warned that Putin would not stop in Ukraine if he won.
