ONE person is dead after a shooting at a Maryland mall on Saturday.
Police say an altercation that occurred at a Howard County Mall left a customer dead.
No More Signs of Active Shooting, CBS Affiliate WUSA reported.
Police did not provide information about the victim or possible suspects.
“COLUMBIA MALL: One person has died after being shot during a fight inside the mall,” the Howard County Police Department posted on X.
“There are no indications of an active shooter at this time. Will update.”
Witnesses posted on X describing the scene at the mall.
“There was a shooting at Columbia Mall. My best friend and I were in the food court when we heard a loud pop,” said one customer. he wrote.
“Everyone dove. I’ve never run so fast in my life! We’re safe!”
Another mall goer described the scene as the “scariest moment” of his life.
“Scariest moment of my life in the US, I was ordering from Chick-fil-A just a few feet away,” shared user X.
“A big bang and we all ran towards JCPenny.”
