An 83-year-old man has been missing for a week after persistent issues due to a Crowdstrike outage canceled his flight home, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Patrick A. Bailey checked in for his flight out of Orlando International Airport on July 21. The trip was canceled “due to the persistent results of the CrowdStrike outage,” police said.
“Bailey spent the night at a local hotel and checked out the next morning,” the police department said in a statement. X. “However, he didn’t catch a flight home.”
No one has heard from Bailey since he left the hotel, police said.
Bailey’s son, Patrick Bailey Jr., says his father was supposed to return home to California on July 21 after visiting his sister in Florida, but his flight was canceled, NBC affiliate WESH reported. Patrick said his father left his cell phone at the hotel and has not been able to contact him since.
“He could have chosen another airline,” Bailey Jr. told the outlet. “But he didn’t show up at home. We had people checking out his house.”
The Orlando Police Department is asking anyone who has seen Bailey or knows where he is to call them.
