MADALINA Cojocari’s mother shared new photos after she fled the US despite being named a suspect in her daughter’s disappearance.

The girl, now 13, was last seen getting off a school bus in Cornelius, North Carolina on November 21, 2022, when she was just 11 years old.

It would take her parents 21 days to report her missing, which led to the arrest of her mother, Diana Cojocari, and her stepfather, Christopher Palmiter.

Palmiter was convicted of failing to report Madalina’s disappearance and is currently serving a suspended sentence.

Diana, 37, was released from prison in May after serving 520 days, but Cornelius Police The Department shared a flyer last month naming the mother as a suspect in Madalina’s disappearance.

“We continue to seek information on the whereabouts of Madalina Cojocari who has not been seen since November 21, 2022,” it said a post the police department shared in X.

“Her mother, Diana Cojocari, is considered a suspect in her disappearance.”

After her release, Diana fled the U.S., according to a post in a Facebook group called Where is Madalina Cojocari?

The group discovered a supposed photo of Diana on a plane to Eastern Europe with her mother.

Since then, Diana has published several photos allegedly taken in Romania.

One photo shows Diana holding a large sunflower as she smiles at the camera.

“Dad’s Lui Garden…” said the caption.

Other Photograph showed the mother wearing sunglasses and standing in front of a lake.

Later this month, Diana posted several photos of sunsets, landscapes and lakes.

“Si asta e Romania,” read one caption, loosely translated as “And this is Romania.”

Other photos appear to be close-ups of flowers, which can be found in her father’s garden, according to one post.

BEFORE SHE DISAPPEARED

Before leaving the US, Diana reportedly spent weeks living on the front porch of the familyis home after Palmiter changed the locks so she couldn’t get in after her release.

A neighbor – who asked to stay anonymous – told The US Sun that Diana used to sleep on the porch swing or on the floor.

On the night she was released from prison, the neighbor said she heard Palmiter and Diana talking outside at around 8:30 p.m.

“They raised their voices” and appeared to be arguing, she said.

“He never let her come home,” she added.

The neighbor also offered her thoughts on Madalina before her shocking disappearance, calling her a quiet but very “normal” girl.

She said that Madalina used to come and play video games with her son, who is the same age.

The neighbor’s son is one of the last people in the neighborhood to see Madalina after getting off the school bus with her in November 2022.

The neighbor said she was “shocked” to learn of Madalina’s disappearance, stating that she confronted Diana on November 30, 2022, at a bonfire in the familyyard.

Diana went to her neighbor’s house that day and said, “Oh no, it’s okay, it’s okay,” the woman recalled. “And I thought, ‘Is that it?'”

Diana started another fire in her backyard shortly after her husband’s arrest, the neighbor said.

“It was paper. She burned papers last time,” said the woman.

Neighbors say they called the policeclaiming that Diana was burning more things in the backyard that day and was arrested shortly after.

Cornelius Police promised that they will not stop looking for Madalina.

Anyone with information about Madalina’s disappearance or whereabouts is urged to call Cornelius Police Department at 704-892-7773 or your local embassy.
