The Sacramento County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a 15-year-old boy shot to death last week at an Arden Arcade apartment complex.

The shooting began around 10:15 p.m. July 22 at the Ethan Apartments in the 1900 block of Ethan Way, striking two people, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

The 15-year-old boy was shot and taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Jimmy Walton, a resident of Citrus Heights.

Another man, in his 20s, was also injured inside an apartment, according to previous reporting by The Sacramento Bee.

The Sheriff’s Office did not announce any arrests, although an office spokesman said the shooting appeared to be gang-related. The investigation is ongoing.
