Exclusive photos from The US Sun show the 41-year-old wearing sunglasses, shielding her eyes while wearing a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt and black shorts.

The outfit showed off several of her tattooscovering arms and legs.

Abdela’s once-short bob was cut into a pixie cut.

Her current appearance is a far cry from when she was accused of murdering and disemboweling 44-year-old real estate agent Michael McMorrow.

At the time, prosecutors believe Abdela, then 15, attacked McMorrow with his friend, Christopher Vasquez, after a night of drinking.

The teens left McMorrow in Central Park with fatal injuries to their faces, hands and necks.

His body was discovered filled with rocks and pushed into a lake in the Strawberry Fields section of the park.

Abdela was quick to blame Vasquez for the murder, former New York Police Department detectives said in the Netflix documentary series Homicide: New York.

However, evidence showed that she was involved in the murder, which led Abdela to plead guilty to manslaughter as part of a deal.

She was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison prisonserving six years before his release in 2004.

Abdela has remained silent since her sentencing, leading many to wonder what her life is like now.

The US Sun had previously photographed Abdela using the cane while walking outside a Starbucks.

Absent from these photos is the cane that Abdela uses to get around.

Abdela was in a car accident in 2009 that reportedly left her “sick, sore, lame and disabled, experiencing mental anguish and great pain and suffering,” according to the report. New York Post Office.

She sued two drivers after the accident and court Records obtained by The US Sun show the case was closed, however, it is unclear how it was resolved.

Neighbors were able to confirm Abdela’s identity in The US Sun photos.

ISLAND GIRL

Abdela lives a quiet life in City Island, a neighborhood in the northeast of the Bronx.

The 1.5-mile island has a population of 4,417, according to the 2020 Census.

She lives in a two-story single-family home on the island, famous for its seafood restaurants and harbor access.

The home is located about 13 miles northeast of the Central Park crime scene that changed Abdela’s life forever.

The murder of Michael McMorrow

On May 23, 1997, Daphne Abdela and Christopher Vasquez, both 15, met with Michael McMorrow, 44, whom Daphne had met in Alcoholics Anonymous.

Later that night, Abdela called 911 to report that there was a body in a lake in Central Park.

First responders found McMorrow’s body covered in stab wounds.

At first, Abdela pointed the finger at Vasquez when she was confronted by police that same night.

However, detectives questioned how he could kill a 200-pound man by himself.

The medical examiner later found bruises on McMorrow’s body in line with the sole of Abdela’s skates.

The island is a hotspot for Bronx natives to enjoy bars and swimming in the summer.

However, there is a close-knit group of families who have lived on the island for generations.

Neighbors told The US Sun they were aware of Abdela’s criminal past, saying she didn’t go out much.

Another neighbor said he never saw her walking in front of his house, despite living on the other side of the block.

The US Sun confirmed that Abdela has dogs and hires a dog walker to help take care of them.

SHOCKING MURDER

Abdela made headlines in 1997 for the horrific crime for being the daughter of Angelo Abdela, vice-president of a large food company.

The young heiress enjoyed a privileged life, growing up in New York’s upscale Upper West Side neighborhood.

She attended the elite private school Columbia Grammar and Preparatory and spent time with other children from wealthy families in the area.

However, witnesses claim that the girl was impetuous and uncontrollable, preferring to drink and fight, according to The New York Times.

“She was just tough,” said author Stella Sands, who wrote about McMorrow’s murder.

“She was tough. She looked tough and walked down our street,” she told The US Sun.

“She wasn’t your sweet, adorable little blonde girl.”

Abdela met with Vasquez the night of McMorrow’s murder, having met the other teen just a few weeks earlier.

The two met up after school and roller skated in the park, witnesses said.

At some point, they saw McMorrow, who was going to drink with Abdela after meeting at the Alcoholics Anonymous.

The three grabbed drinks, but the night turned scary when Abdella called 911 in the early hours of May 23.

McMorrow’s body had 38 stab wounds, including six to the heart, and his intestines were found floating in the water, detectives said.

Detectives found Abdela and Vasquez in a bathroom washing off blood.

Abdela cursed the officers, telling them to leave, but later admitted his role in McMorrow’s murder.

She alleged that the middle-aged McMorrow tried to kiss and grope her while she and Vasquez swam naked.

Vasquez grabbed his pocket knife and attacked McMorrow as Abdela watched in horror, she told police at the time.

However, she later changed her story when speaking with prosecutors and the district attorney.

Bruises were found on McMorrow’s body, matching the soles of Abdela’s skates, which had blood on them.

She was difficult. She had a tough look and used to hang out on our street.

Detectives believe Abdela helped Vasquez kill McMorrow and dragged him into the lake.

The evidence was presented to Abdela’s famous lawyer, Benjamine Brafman, who has represented people like Sean Combs.

She got a plea deal, meanwhile, Vasquez was found guilty of manslaughter in 1998, however, many on the jury believe that Abdela was the real killer.

Abdella was never tried, leaving many questions about what happened that night – such as the motive for the murder.

The two teenagers served six years before being released from prison and have kept their records clean since then.

When she was released, a note was found taped to a park bench near where McMorrow’s body was found, the newspaper reported. New York Post Office at the time.

“Rest assured. I tried to save you,” said the note, signed by “D.”

“I’m sorry I failed you. I’m sorry for the pain I caused you and your family.”
