Gas prices in the Central-West region have risen compared to last week: see how much here

Regional gas prices rose for the second week in a row and averaged $3.48 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, up from last week’s price of $3.43 per gallon, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

The average price of fuel in the Midwest region has increased by about 6 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices across the region last year were as low as $2.77 on January 8, 2024, and as high as $3.77 on August 14, 2023.

A year ago, the average price of gas in the Midwest region was 4% higher, at $3.61 per gallon.

The average price of gasoline in the United States last week was $3.48, making prices in the Midwest about 0.2% lower than the country’s average. The national average gas price is up from last week’s average of $3.47 per gallon.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s price count for Midwestern states includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
