He told investigators he killed his neighbor because he “wanted to see what it was like to stab someone,” sources told the local ABC affiliate. KTRK-TV.

Dana Magnuson, 62, a mother of two, was found dead in her backyard with stab wounds on July 20, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed on X.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy for murder, whose identity has not been released due to his age, nine days after the attack.

Investigators responded to Magnuson’s home in Hockley, Texas, about 40 minutes outside of Houston, on the evening of July 20.

They found her body near a shed in the backyard.

Police believe she was first attacked in her hot tub and tried to run away from her attacker.

The scene showed signs of a struggle between Magnuson and the suspect, but she was already dead before police arrived.

‘BLOOD EVERYWHERE’

Magnuson’s son, Tyler Pitney, spoke to the local Fox affiliate, KRIV-TV about the brutal attack.

“There was still blood everywhere – around here – on the doors,” he told the publication.

“To be honest, I don’t think it’s really hit me yet.”

Pitney added that he knew the suspect in custody, explaining that the teen helped his mother with the lawn.

“Nothing out of the ordinary, normal looking kid, looks like he comes from a decent home,” Pitney added.

The suspect’s attorney, John Stephenson, said in a statement to KTRK that the teen was a “good kid.”

“We only have preliminary reports and a petition has not yet been filed by the State. We look forward to seeing what evidence they actually have,” the statement read.

“He’s a good kid from a good family and we’re working to find out what really happened.”

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described Magnuson as an “active member of the community and loved by all who knew her.”

Pitney said her mother was a dedicated mother and worked as a transportation worker.

“She was the most loving person, the kindest, sweetest soul anyone has ever met, and it is… This person took a true angel out of this world,” he told KRIV.

“We hope this child is charged as an adult.”

Pitney created a GoFundMe to raise money for Magnuson’s funeral costs.

The GoFundMe added that she is survived by two children, her beloved dog and numerous friends.

His alleged killer remains in the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center.

It is unclear whether he will be tried as an adult and when his trial date will be.

US Sun reached out to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
