Flight cancellations are ongoing on Sunday as Tropical Storm Debby moves toward the Florida coast.

State and federal authorities are preparing for Debby’s imminent landfall on Florida’s west coast. The storm has been slowly making its way across the Gulf of Mexico since late last week.

As a result, flights are being canceled across the country, including at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport, better known as CVG.

More than 2,000 flights were delayed or canceled across the country on Sunday, according to Flight Awarea flight tracking website.

There are 10 flights canceled and 61 delayed on Sunday at CVG as of 2:15 p.m.

The majority of delayed flights will affect those traveling to Dallas-Forth Worth airport in Texas; airports in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Boston.

Some of the major airlines affected include United Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta, Southwest, Alaska Airlines and Frontier Airlines.

You can check your flight status at CVG website before going to the airport. Monday’s flights are all scheduled from Sunday afternoon.

As a result of the weather, these airlines are issuing waivers that allow affected customers to change their flights without penalty, USA TODAY reports:

Federal Department of Transportation rules say passengers are right to refunds if your flights are cancelled.
