ABC News expels GMA meteorologist over complaints

Rob Marcianothe veteran ABC News meteorologist who provided weather updates for Good Morning America It is World News Tonightwas fired by the network, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to The Daily Beast.

ABC News booted Marciano on Tuesday following complaints from several network employees about his behavior, sources noted. Marciano’s allegedly aggressive behavior, such as Page Six reported last year resulted in the meteorologist being “banned” from GMA studio for about a year. An ABC News spokesperson declined to comment on Marciano’s firing. Disco first reported at the exit of Marciano.

“It turned out he did something…inappropriate, but he was punished for it and they still haven’t let him return,” a network source told Page Six last year. The outlet reported that Marciano was barred from the set after disturbing a colleague.

Additional sources at the time told Page Six that Marciano was dealing with “anger management issues” while going through his divorce, adding that he “made people uncomfortable” during a series of “alarming events.”

It was announced last September that Marciano would stop providing weather reporters for Good morning America weekend editions, with Somara Theodore taking on this role. When it was time for change, Marciano noticed on social media he wasn’t leaving the network and was looking forward to an “exciting new project” with NatGeo.

In recent months, he was moved to ABC News’ evening newscast. World News Tonight and continued to make occasional appearances on GMA. Before joining ABC News in 2014, Marciano was a CNN meteorologist and co-anchor of the syndicated celebrity gossip program. Entertainment tonight.

Marciano did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
