A two-car crash in Lexington Wednesday morning left two drivers injured and the road closed, according to the Lexington Police Department and the Lexington Transportation Center.
The crash happened around 1:22 a.m. near the intersection of Liberty Road and Burkewood Drive, which is near New Circle Road. Lexington Police Lt. Jesse Palmer said the two vehicles collided and both drivers were injured.
One of the drivers suffered serious injuries, according to Palmer. The other driver’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
No other information about the collision was available. Palmer said the Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the wreck.
Authorities still have Liberty Road blocked between Burkewood Drive and Fortune Drive from 7 a.m. due to the investigation, according to the transportation center. The closure is expected to last until Wednesday morning rush hour.
