Three children who went missing after a day in Thorpe Park have been found safe and sound after a two-day search.

Surrey Police launched an appeal on Tuesday to find the children, aged 14, nine and seven, who were reported missing shortly after 7pm on Monday.

Everyone knew each other and the two youngest, Amelia and Malik, were related. The force said they were at the park on a planned day and traveled from Milton Keynes to Surrey.

All three were last seen leaving the park towards Chertsey town center at around 3.17pm. Originally it was believed they may have traveled to London.

North Surrey Detective Superintendent Trevor Struthers said: “We appreciate the concern this incident has caused, particularly given the age of the children and the fact they went missing overnight.

“Our officers and staff worked tirelessly to locate the three and we are all relieved that they were found safe.

“We have received a huge amount of information and support from both the public and the media and we would like to thank everyone who provided information and shared our appeal.”
