Summer arrived in full force and Summit County residents rushed to pools and splash pads last week to escape the recent heat wave, which sent daily temperatures soaring into the mid-90s.
Humans aren’t the only ones trying to stay cool in the heat last week. The animals were also seeking protection from the scorching sun, as a Stow woman’s recent Facebook post shows.
Kristina Fultz posted photos of three baby deer playing in her pool on June 20, under the watchful eye of their mother, on Facebook. The photos went semi-viral, with more than 1,000 people reacting and commenting on the post.
“One of my kids was really impressed with how many people commented,” Fultz said. “He said, ‘Mom, our deer are famous.’

Fultz said she was taking her 3-year-old twin sons to play in the pool when one of the twins alerted her to the deer playing in the water.
“He came up to me saying, ‘Oh my God,’ and pointed to the back sliding door where the baby deer were jumping around and having fun,” Fultz said. “We watched them for a few minutes and I thought that was the coolest thing, so I took out my phone to take some pictures because no one would believe me.”
Fultz showed the photos to some family and friends before posting them on Facebook because she knew it was a “sight to see,” she said.
Their photos quickly became popular, with users noting how adorable the animals were.
“Three babies!!! I loved it!!!”, posted one user. “Triplets are very rare.”
“The cutest thing,” another user posted, adding three heart emojis at the end of the reply.
“*Immediately buy a foldable pool and put it in*”, replied a third user.
