California Police Officer Stops Tourist Car for Exhaust Noise Violation

California Police Officer Stops Tourist Car for Exhaust Noise Violation

You probably already know California decided to actually crack down on car modifications, including passing an exhaust noise law this is so restrictive some owners with factory exhaust systems have been cited for violations. Whether or not you feel the law is justified, it doesn’t appear that at least some police officers in California have decided to cite vehicles clearly registered out of state for violations.

Watch a man jump from a moving truck on a California highway.

This issue came to light thanks to the YouTube channel DailyDrivenExotics. They were driving around Costa Mesa in a 2003 car Lamborghini Murcielago with modified exhaust when a motorcycle police officer stopped them.

The police officer in question, who had a famous disagreement with the channel in 2019, most likely did not want to speak because he knew he was being recorded and it would all end up on YouTube. But he finally admitted that he wrote a citation for excessive exhaust noise, even though the supercar is registered in Canada.

We know from experience that California police officers aren’t the only ones who do this kind of thing. If your vehicle’s window tint exceeds the allowable limit in an area where you are traveling, say, on vacation, the police have been known to write citations even if you are within the allowable value where your car is registered and you live. .

It seems like the situation with this Lambo in the video is a little different than someone simply driving around somewhere on vacation. But we wonder if anyone who has visited California or anywhere else for a getaway has encountered similar problems.

If you received a fine while on vacation somewhere else, did you try to fight the fine or just pay the fine? Has this made you not want to come back for more vacations?
