A new ITV documentary will look into her life and her homicide, as Gabby’s remains were found in Wyoming.

Does Gabby have siblings?

Gabby is the daughter of Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt.

Gabby’s parents remarried after their divorce. Gabby’s stepmother is Tara Petito and her stepfather is Jim Schmidt.

Gabby is the oldest of six siblings and half-siblings.

Gabby’s younger brother, TJ Schmidt, is her only sibling with whom she shares parents.

TJ took to Instagram to express the pain of losing his sister, whose death was ruled a homicide on September 21, 2021.

He posted a photo of Gabby posing in front of a mural of angel wings with the caption: “I don’t even know what to say. I’m totally lost. My heart is shattered #justiceforgabby.”

In 2022, he visited Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, the location where Laundrie killed Petito.

“This post is difficult for me, but visiting the place where my sister was taken from us was enlightening in many ways, as painful as it was,” TJ wrote.

“But the signs that she was watching were everywhere.”

Schimdt also shared photos of the park and a photo that showed a tribute with Polaroids of a smiling Petito with her loved ones, and lilac and purple flowers.

Teton County Coroner Dr. ruled her death a homicide, stating that she had was strangled to death.

It is believed that her fiancé Brian Laundrie killed Gabby and then took his own life.

How is Gabby remembered?

Gabby’s family and friends gathered at Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home to honor her memory on September 26, 2021.

Both Gabby’s father and stepfather spoke at the beginning of the service.

Joe Petito said: “Gabby had four parents. They weren’t stepfathers. She had four parents who genuinely loved her as if she were their own, and this man is one of them.”

A 28-minute memorial video was released by the Long Island Funeral Home with many memories of Gabby.

She was seen smiling with her family, including siblings and half-siblings, in the video montage that shows her throughout her life.

The Petito family announced support for a account This would expedite missing person reports across the country in 2022.

In addition to endorsing the federal bill The Help Find The Missing Act, the family also started the Gabby Petito Foundation in October 2021.

The foundation aims to respond “to the needs of organizations that support the location of missing people and provide assistance to organizations that assist victims of domestic violence situations, through education, awareness and prevention strategies”.

In February 2024, the families of Petito and Laundrie reached an agreement on a lawsuitsaid a lawyer for the Laundries.

Petito’s parents claimed that the laundries knew that their son killed his fiancée while traveling across the country, but intentionally withheld this information.

Do Gabby’s siblings live together?

After their daughter’s unexpected death, it was revealed to Dr. Phil that Joe Petito and Nichole Schmidt had moved in together with their spouses.

Dr. Phil spoke exclusively with Gabby Petito’s family on his program, where they talk about how they have lived amid the tragedy.

“There aren’t many people who can understand,” Gabby’s father said. “You’re sorry and you can stress it, especially if you’re a parent, you get it in the back of your head, but until you get there, you don’t have a clue.”

Gabby’s parents and stepparents revealed that they live in the same house with all of Gabby’s siblings.

“I think it’s really special for our younger kids because they were able to bond and get away from what was going on and they were all together,” Gabby’s stepfather said.

“We could get together and talk about the things we were talking about and take time to be with them and plan their memorial.”

Gabby’s mom added, “Gabby always wanted us to live in the same house together, so she kind of accomplished that.”
