Canadian rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion was cordoned off by police today following a shooting near his property, according to reports.
One person was seriously injured after being shot in the chest and had to be taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to Toronto’s City News.
The shooting happened at 2:09 a.m. Canadian time, according to reports.
The suspect is believed to be on the run after fleeing the scene and no description of the suspect has been reported at this time, according to City News of Toronto.
Drake’s property is currently under police surveillance following the incident and the street in front of his mansion has been cordoned off with “Do Not Cross” signs, according to reports.
Police are currently investigating the issue and further investigations are ongoing.
Drake was the highest-grossing rapper in the world last year. He is currently involved in a rap feud with Los Angeles-born rapper Kendrick Lamar.
“Say, Drake, I heard you like them young / You better never go to cell block one,” Kendrick Lamar said on his newly released track “Different from us“, which is based on “certified pedophiles”.
The rap rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has been growing with both rappers releasing new diss tracks almost daily.
No connection has been found between the shooting and the rapper’s rap feud thus far.
