The military wing of the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas has again mounted an attack on the Kerem Shalom border crossing between Israel and the southern tip of the Gaza Strip – the fourth such attack since Sunday.
Mortars were used in Friday’s attack, al-Qassam Brigades said on the Telegram messaging service.
Israel’s COGAT organization, responsible for coordinating with Palestinian civil authorities, published on the X messaging service: “Hamas has just fired at Kerem Shalom, the main humanitarian aid crossing into Gaza.”
The attack was the fourth time this week that Hamas actively fired on the crossing point, he said.
“Hamas will do everything to prevent aid from reaching the people of Gaza,” COGAT added.
In recent days, Israeli protesters have again blocked aid convoys trying to enter the Gaza Strip, saying the deliveries are helping Hamas resist Israeli forces.
