Energy sector services provider TechnipFMC has secured a “significant” integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract from Australia’s Woodside Energy.

The contract is for the development of Phase 3 of Xena to support continued production from the Pluto LNG project in Australia.

Under the terms of the contract, TechnipFMC will design, manufacture and install its Subsea 2.0 production system, flexible tubing and umbilicals for the Xena Infill well (XNA03).

It follows an integrated front-end engineering design study (iFEED) and is the latest order under the framework agreement between the two companies.

Xena Phase 3 will be integrated into existing subsea infrastructure which was also provided by TechnipFMC.

A “significant” deal for TechnipFMC is one valued between $75 million and $250 million.

The expectation is that the award will be included in the company’s entry requests for the second quarter of 2024.

The Pluto LNG project processes gas from the Pluto and Xena offshore gas fields, which is transported via a 180km trunk line to a single onshore LNG processing train.

Woodside is also working on a brownfield expansion of Pluto LNG through the construction of a second gas processing train to process gas from the offshore Scarborough field.

TechnipFMC Subsea President Jonathan Landes said: “We are proud to deliver a fully integrated project from concept to execution. This project will help our long-term client achieve its objectives by demonstrating the favorable impact that iFEED, iEPCI and Subsea 2.0 can have on project economics.”

Earlier this year, TechnipFMC and Saipem were chosen to work on a major carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in the United Kingdom.

The Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), a joint venture between BP, Equinor and TotalEnergies, has selected TechnipFMC to supply and install an all-electric subsea system with manifolds, umbilicals and pipes.

The NEP infrastructure will facilitate the transport and storage of CO₂ for the UK East Coast Cluster.
