Food distribution in the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza, has been suspended due to a lack of supplies and insecurity, the UN says.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, warned that its distribution center and a World Food Program warehouse were now inaccessible due to ongoing Israeli military action against Hamas in eastern Rafah.

It is estimated that 810,000 of the more than one million people who took refuge in Rafah have fled since the start of the Israeli operation on May 6.

Unrwa also said that its health centers have not received any medical supplies in the last 10 days.

The news came as the US said it did not believe any of the 569 tons of food and other aid that entered Gaza via a recently completed floating dock had been distributed to Palestinians by humanitarian organizations.

On Saturday, crowds of Palestinians desperate for food looted several WFP trucks transporting aid from the dock to a warehouse in the central city of Deir al-Balah, prompting the agency to suspend deliveries.

The WFP said distribution was halted while the UN planned new routes to avoid crowds.

About that, The head of the World Health Organization warned that the largest partially functional hospital in northern Gaza had been hit four times on Tuesdayas battles between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups in the neighboring Jabalia area intensify.

The Israeli military said it was looking into reports from doctors at the Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia that their emergency department had been hit by Israeli missiles, forcing them to move patients in hospital beds to an outside street.

The WHO also said al-Awda hospital in Jabalia had been under siege since Sunday.with dozens of staff, patients and companions trapped inside.
