Zurich:
A jogger was killed by a naked man who screamed and attacked people in a lakeside park in Switzerland, police said Wednesday.
The attack took place on Tuesday night in Mannedorf on Lake Zurich, about 20 kilometers southeast of Switzerland’s largest city, Zurich cantonal police said.
A 19-year-old suspect was arrested.
“On Tuesday night, a woman was attacked and fatally injured by a man in Mannedorf,” police said, adding that the woman was running.
“Just before 8pm (6pm GMT), passers-by reported a man in Alma Park who was running around naked, shouting and physically attacking others.
“Emergency services who quickly arrived at the scene found a seriously injured woman lying on the ground.
“Despite immediate resuscitation, the woman died from serious injuries.
“The suspect in the crime, a 19-year-old Swiss man, who was also found at the scene, was arrested by the police.”
The identity of the victim is subject to an ongoing investigation, police said.
Police said they were also investigating the background to the attack and whether the perpetrator and victim knew each other.
After police interrogation, the detained suspect will be referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for a serious violent crime, police said.
