4-year-old Emirati girl forgotten on school bus by staff: ''Lucky to have our son alive''

Fortunately, the girl survived without any harm.

A four-year-old girl in Sharjah was left alone on the school bus after staff forgot to drop her off. According to Khaleej Times, the girl, who fell asleep, was discovered crying by the bus conductor during the second trip of the men’s bus. The girl was on the bus from 6am to 8:40am and then fell ill and was taken to the hospital for a check-up.

Fortunately, the girl survived without any harm. However, the girl’s mother is now advising other parents to remain vigilant and speak regularly to bus drivers and conductors about their children’s safety.

”At 7:30 am, the driver called me to inform me that my son fell asleep, was left behind on the bus and couldn’t get to the classroom. I told him to drop her home immediately, but he didn’t. It was only when I called the teacher that she found out about the incident. We rushed to school at 8:15 am, but my daughter had not yet reached her classroom or school,” the girl’s mother recalled the incident.

“My daughter said she hit her head on the front seat. And when she woke up, there were all the big students, that is, boys and seniors from the second trip. inside and then called me,” she added.

The girl’s parents removed her from school and complained to local authorities, complaining that staff downplayed the incident as a minor incident.

“I can’t find the courage to send her to school until she is a little older to take care of herself. I went to the same school, but I never expected my daughter to be treated this way. Our trust has been broken. We are lucky to to have our son alive; I pray that no other father and son will go through such a miserable situation,” the woman said.

In the past, there have been several cases of carelessness in which children suffocated or fell ill after being left behind in school buses or private vehicles.
