On Sunday, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister of India for his third consecutive term in an impressive ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which was attended by leaders from India’s neighborhood and the Indian Ocean region.
President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Narendra Modi, followed by other members of his team of ministers.
The inauguration ceremony is attended by the Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu , the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnauth, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, and the Vice President of Seychelles, Ahmed Afif. .
In addition to two terms as prime minister starting in 2014, Narendra Modi also has the distinction of being Gujarat’s longest-serving chief minister, serving from October 2001 to May 2014.
