Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has hinted at a possible return to public life this weekend, according to The Independent. This comes just days after reports suggested she would be out of public view for the rest of the year due to health problems, possibly due to cancer treatment.

However, the latest reports suggest a possible change of plans. The Princess of Wales is considering a surprise appearance at the King’s annual birthday parade on Saturday, June 15.

Earlier, in a heartfelt letter, she had expressed regret at having missed the final rehearsal of Trooping the Color (the Colonel’s Review).

Kate Middleton is Honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards. In her letter addressed to the Regiment, she wrote: “Please convey my apologies to the entire Regiment”, hoping that she would be “able to represent you all once again very soon”.

The Princess of Wales was absent from public appearances for several months. On March 22, she revealed her cancer diagnosis after undergoing abdominal surgery in January. The specific type of cancer was not disclosed, but Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate began preventive chemotherapy at the end of February. She has remained out of the public eye since then and the palace says she will only return to duty when cleared by doctors.

Last week, Prince William shared a positive comment update on Kate’s healthnearly three months after she announced her cancer diagnosis.

While talking to WWII veterans in Portsmouth, England, one veteran asked the Prince of Wales if Kate was getting better. He replied: “Yes,” before adding: “She would love to be here today.”
