The German Interior Ministry is satisfied with the security situation at the Men’s European Football Championship so far, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Despite minor disturbances and fan violence on the outskirts of some games, the security concept was successful ahead of the last two games in Germany, the spokesperson added. The final will be in Berlin on Sunday.

German police have deployed 22,000 officers daily to supervise the tournament.

Ministry of the Interior Nancy Faeser also established controls at all borders with the European Union and Switzerland until July 19.

After this period, temporary border controls with Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland will continue to exist.
