The 2024 Ferrari Cavalcade, which started in Venice, Italy on July 1, has already witnessed several accidents, including a notable accident involving a LaFerrari. This prestigious event, known for presenting from Ferrari rather, it quickly turned into a series of unfortunate incidents.
Among the first reported accidents was a black 296 GTB which caught fire near Venice. Emergency crews managed to extinguish the flames before the car was completely destroyed, as captured in videos circulating on social media.
Additionally, another 296 GTB and an SF90 were involved in a highway accident while the participants were traveling north. Details are scarce, but it is believed that wet and slippery road conditions contributed to these incidents.
The LaFerrari, one of the most exclusive models in the rally, was also the victim of an accident. Images on social media reveal significant damage to the car. Reports indicate it was rear-ended, resulting in considerable damage to the rear bumper, taillight cluster, and exhaust tips. The front bumper and splitter were also damaged, suggesting the LaFerrari may have collided with another vehicle after the initial impact.
Repairing a LaFerrari it is notoriously expensive. The rear bumper alone costs approximately $63,000, the taillight about $1,000, and the front bumper assembly almost $42,000. These numbers highlight the high cost of maintaining these elite supercars.
The Ferrari Cavalcade, normally a celebration of Ferrari’s engineering prowess and a scenic ride for enthusiasts, faced a challenging start this year. The accidents serve as a reminder of the risks inherent in high-performance driving, even in controlled rally conditions.
