Washington:
Current President Joe Biden is the best person to face Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee in the November election, his campaign said on Friday.
“The president is in this race. You’ve heard him say it over and over again,” Biden-Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon told MSNBC in an interview, a day after Trump accepted his nomination to be president . Republican presidential candidate in the November general election.
Many Democrats at the highest level want Trump to withdraw from the 2024 elections to make way for a new candidate and try to avoid widespread party losses in November.
Dillon insisted that Biden is committed to fighting Trump.
“I think we saw exactly why last night. Because Donald Trump will not offer anything new to the American people. person he is – about himself and not the American people, Joe Biden is more committed than ever to defeating Donald Trump,” Dillon said.
“We believe in this campaign. We are prepared for the close elections we are in and we see the path forward. The president is the leader of our campaign and the country, and he is clearly in our impression, what we’ve built, and in our engagement with voters, he’s the best person to stand up to Donald Trump and prosecute this case and present his vision compared to what we saw last night,” Dillon said.
“The president has the delegates. He has the support. He was elected in this process by 14 million voters. In 2020, by 81 million, more than anyone before him. The broad coalition of people who stand by the president is bigger and broader than the people who don’t want him to run, and these are the people who are doing the work in the states that really matter, and I’m confident that when we can get back to being able to take the case to Donald Trump, we will have the momentum to do so, and we can bring home people who have some concerns or are a little undecided today, because when they see these two at the forefront and the visions they have for this country, I have no doubt that the American people are going to be with Joe Biden,” Dillon said.
This is definitely a difficult time for the campaign, Dillon said.
“But when the president was there talking to the voters and was with the voters when they saw him, they saw him present the contrast, they showed that he is doing the job of leading this country and its [candidacy]they see in him the person who is going to win,” Dillon said.
