It was reported that two helicopters collided mid-air on Thursday in Western Australia, with injuries unknown at this stage.

According to a statement from the Western Australian Police Force, the incident occurred near Mount Anderson station in Camballin, a small town in the state’s Kimberley region, Xinhua news agency reported.

Emergency services were notified of the accident at around 6:20am local time on Thursday morning.

“Early indications suggest that two helicopters collided shortly after take-off. Both helicopters are believed to be occupied solely by one pilot,” police said.

Authorities also noted that at this time, details of the people on board and the extent of their injuries are unknown.
