The Princess of Wales, 42, announced the “huge shock” of her cancer diagnosis in March and has not performed public engagements since Christmas.

Royal biographer Claudia Joseph, author of Kate: The Making of a Princess, told Fabulous: “Natasha has been by Kate’s side since she joined the royal family and will be a tower of strength for her as she battles cancer. ”

Kate underwent “planned major abdominal surgery” in January at the London Clinic in Mayfair, and one of the trusted members of her loyal inner circle who visited her was personal assistant and stylist, Natasha.

The close staffer has worked with the Princess of Wales for more than a decade and was photographed leaving the hospital where Kate stayed after being discharged.

Claudia added: “She was one of the few people who visited the Princess at the London Clinic and is undoubtedly at her disposal day and night whenever she wants to chat.

“Natasha, who is five years younger than Kate, has been in the princess’s orbit for more than 13 years and has witnessed every important event in her life: she was by her side at the Royal weddingsbirths and trips abroad, she visited Kate in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, London, after the birth of her children.”

The 36-year-old fashion designer – who is married to royal photographer Chris Jackson – keeps out of the public eye and is said to have a lot in common with Kate.

Claudia continued: “The couple, who married in 2017 in a medieval mansion near BordeauxThey are naturally discreet, which is why they fit into the spirit of William and Kate.

“The two women have a close bond because they have a lot in common: they both went to board schoolsshare a love of art and fashion and are mothers – Natasha’s eldest son, Theo, is just a few months younger than Prince Louis.”

According to Grazia, the Queen requested that Natasha be hired as Kate’s stylist to make her wardrobe “regal”.

A source said at the time: “Natasha’s main role is as a social worker, but in recent months she has helped Kate as a style adviser.

“Natasha and Kate get along really well. She has always supported and advised Kate – and the Duchess loves Natasha’s style, so it seemed like an obvious appointment.”

Natasha was responsible for some of Kate’s most iconic fashion looks, with Claudia adding that she encouraged Kate to “experiment with her wardrobe and transform her from Sloane Ranger to style icon.”

The royal biographer added: “It was she who introduced Kate to designer Jenny Packham, who is one of her favourites, and who convinced her to try shorter hemlines, culottes and wide-leg trousers.

“She is known for retouching Kate’s face to invent on the plane and reportedly helped William spruce up his wardrobe after he was criticized for looking like a ‘real estate agent’. “Apparently she got rid of his white Asics sneakers.”

In December 2018, she was rewarded for her services and invited to become a member of the Royal Order of Victoria.

For the occasion, she wore a £250 polka dot midi dress from one of Kate’s favorite brands, LK Bennett.

More of Kate’s moving message…

Earlier this month, Prince William revealed that Kate is “doing well” following her cancer diagnosis.

The Prince of Wales commented on her health during a visit to St Mary’s Community Hospital in the Isles of Scilly.

Prince William has been reducing his public commitments to help support his wife and three young children.

Original statement from Kensington Palace regarding Kate Middleton’s surgery

KENSINGTON Palace released a statement in January after Kate underwent surgery.

Sources made it clear that Kate would be out of action until at least Easter.

The palace said: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate.

“She hopes the public understands her desire to maintain as much normalcy as possible for her children; and her desire for her personal medical information to remain private.

“Kensington Palace will therefore only provide updates on HRH’s progress when there is significant new information to share.

“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologize to everyone involved for having to postpone her upcoming engagements.

“She hopes to reintegrate as many as possible, as quickly as possible.”

However, Kensington Palace recently announced that the 41-year-old would resume public appearances.

It suggests the mother-of-three’s recovery is on track, according to royal expert Phil Dampier.

He told Fabulous Digital: “There are some telltale signs that it is improving as Prince William is undertaking more jobs, including heading to the Isles of Scilly where he will be away for a day or two.

“I don’t think he would go out anymore unless he was happy that she was recovering.”

Reports suggest he will continue to make more public engagements before his children leave for the summer in July and August.

According to The timesit is understood that Prince William plans to “increase his diary of public engagements over the next two months”.

Kate first announced her health battle in a heartbreaking video on March 22.

She shared the News after post-operative tests revealed she had the disease.

Addressing the nation, she commented: “Of course this has come as a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately, for the good of our young family.

“As you can imagine, this took time. It took me some time to recover from major surgery to begin my treatment.”

Royal expert Phil Dampier adds that contracting cancer in her early forties was a “tremendous shock” but says the princess will receive the “best treatment and will hopefully make a full recovery.”

He adds: “When Kate returns to action, interest in her will be off the charts and she will have to pace herself.

“She will certainly be more popular than ever and I am sure the public will rally around her.

“His parents Carole and Michael, as well as his sister Pippa and brother James, have been by his side and that support network is also crucial.”

Prince William is a pillar of strength for Kate

Expert analysis from author and royal expert, Ingrid Seward.

Steadfast when his family needed him, William proved himself to be a man and future monarch of strength and compassion.

While he may not have been present during Kate’s brave video on Friday — make no mistake, he was by her side every step of the way.

William stepped up with schoolwork and provided a “great source of comfort and security” for his wife.

But he has also been a comforting, reassuring presence for audiences.

From leading members of the Royal Family in the Commonwealth Day Service to enjoying lighthearted banter with young people on a visit to a youth center, he didn’t put a foot wrong.

Just this week he visited Sheffield to highlight his Homewards project to end homelessness in the UK.

Still, there were few flaws in his façade – but Kate was clearly on his mind.

“She needs to be sitting here to hear this,” he smiled when the discussion turned to the challenges of young families.

But ultimately, he is only human.

Having your father and wife diagnosed with cancer in such quick succession is heartbreaking.

It is a remarkable insight into this young man’s character that he was so incredibly brave.

Theirs is a very private turmoil, which has been brought into the public arena by the nature of their roles as future King and Queen.

William must feel the weight of an enormous responsibility, both personally and to the monarchy, of which he is now the public face.

But he knows his most important role is as a father and husband.

He will make this his priority.

This is a distinct difference from the customs of the past, where your royal role came before the role of spouse and parent.

Think back to when the queen was young.

William’s priority is his family

Back then, it was a man’s world – and she was forced to abandon her children in a way that William is determined not to do.

William and Kate waited until the school term was over and their children were home before making the public announcement.

They needed to be prepared.

In this, they will have the unconditional support of Charles – who knows what it’s like to be raised by nannies.

William was also acutely aware of his father’s lack of presence in his life, especially when things went wrong.

In 1991, he was accidentally hit in the head with a golf club when he was at school and Diana was having lunch at her favorite restaurant, San Lorenzo.

The call came that William had been hit in the head and they thought he might die, so it was very serious.

Charles and Diana rushed to Ludgrove.

William was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital and then to Great Ormond Street Hospital and Diana went with him.

But always a man of duty, Charles prioritized his commitments.

William is determined to do things differently
