In an attempt not to make a scene and steal attention from her monarch brother’s parade, the former Olympic athlete managed to calm the animal.

The horse became irritated, shaking its head from left to right as it galloped in rapid movements on the spot.

But the Princess Royal managed to relax the beast and carried out the rest of the procession.

One person wrote on X/Twitter: “Princess Anne managed her horse brilliantly, but I bet she was exhausted at the end of the day; that horse was difficult!”

A second said: “If anyone can handle a badly behaved horse, it’s Princess Anne.”

Another fan commented: “Princess Anne is an exceptional horsewoman.”

Princess Anne had a starring role in Trooping the Color.

The Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals, wore the Full Mounted Ceremonial uniform of the Blues and Royals.

She also carried the Gold Stick along with the Colonel of the Life Guards, who is the Gold Stick-in-Waiting for this year’s parade.

The princess donned aiguilettes as His Majesty King Charles’ personal aide-de-camp.

Charles, 75, and Princess Kate, 42, reunited on the balcony of Buckingham Palace yesterday for the first time since they both began cancer treatment.

It was a brave return to public life for Kate, who has battled cancer valiantly for the past three months.

The Princess of Wales joined other members of the Royal Family to watch a spectacular RAF flyover as she made a triumphant return to public life in Trooping the Colour.

She smiled on Saturday as she made her first public appearance in months with her loving husband Prince William and his children by his side.

Kate looked stunning in white as she laughed and chatted with her family.

Prince William, who looked dapper in his red Irish Guards uniform, proudly displaying medals on his chest, also smiled at the crowd.

Well-wishers held Union Jacks high as they squeezed along the Mall – wearing crowns and fascinators atop their heads.

REAL RETURN

The streets were colored red, white and blue as fans waited patiently to catch a glimpse of the Princess of Wales.

Crowds erupted in the afternoon when Princess Kate appeared on the balcony with Wills and her children by her side.

The day was marked by rain, but the torrential downpours failed to dim Kate’s glow as she smiled alongside her family.

Fans watched in amazement as the princess played and laughed with her children.

Princess Kate previously shared gorgeous behind-the-scenes footage of her with George, Charlotte and Louis heading off to Trooping the Colour.

And although her appearance was highly anticipated by many, the Princess of Wales was keen to divert attention away from her, according to a body language expert.

She explained that Kate was keen to ensure her father-in-law remained the focus during Trooping the Colour.
