Saturday’s annual military parade was the first official royal event Kate has attended since Christmas Day, following his cancer diagnosis.

The royal mother was accompanied by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis rode in carriages during the parade.

They were then joined by Prince William and other royals as they gathered to watch the spectacular Royal Air Force flyby.

Last year, King Charles was front and center as he watched the screening next for his son and heir to the throne, Prince William.

However, the line-up was changed this year so that the monarch could be by his beloved daughter-in-law’s side.

Both King Charles and Princess Kate are undergoing cancer treatment, and emotional photos showed them shoulder to shoulder in front of the crowd.

The royal duo looked united as they smiled and watched fans gathered at The Mall.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun: “I think the image that so many people will have is of Catherine standing next to King Charles on the balcony.

“Here, however, this relationship was highlighted to illustrate how these bonds were only deepened and enriched by the bonds of empathy created by their illnesses.

“This could be interpreted as a gesture of solidarity and support from Charles to Catherine.”

Fans shared their reaction to the new lineup, with one person writing: “While last year, King Charles stood next to Prince William, this time, the monarch proudly stood next to a beaming Princess Kate.

“The royal duo looked more united than ever as they marveled at the huge crowds streaming down the Mall.”

We previously shared how Princess Kate shared an “emotional” lunch with King Charles just before she told the public about her cancer diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales announced on Friday that he would return for the Monarch’s birthday celebrations.

Days later, Kate bravely released a video revealing that “post-op tests found that cancer was present” and that she had started preventive cancer treatment.

The princess said the diagnosis came as a “huge shock” – but promised: “I’m fine and getting stronger every day.”
