The Princess of Wales wowed fans in a chic monochromatic outfit as she joined her three children in a glass carriage during Trooping the Color on Saturday.
Kate Middleton, 42, looked stylish in a white dress with a black ribbon striped neckline by British designer Jenny Packham and accessorized with a wide-brimmed hat by fashion designer Philip Treacy and Jimmy Choo heels.
And according to fashion commentator Amber Graafland, the royal, who coordinated her children’s navy and white outfits, is the “master of using her clothes to send coded messages” — and her Saturday outfit was no exception.
Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, she says: “With so much sincere concern for the Princess of Wales’ health, the nation breathed a collective sigh of relief when she appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Color parade at the weekend.
“It was her first public engagement since Kate shocked the world with her cancer diagnosis in March and despite the uncertainty over her health, she was determined to provide a show of normality.
“And of course, ‘normal’ for Kate is looking immaculate, poised and totally perfect.”
This nod to normality was an attempt to reassure the public that, although it may not yet be a return to “business as usual”, hope is certainly on the horizon

Amber goes on to say that she believes there is no doubt that Kate’s intention was to “put her family and the public’s mind at peace” – which is exactly why she believes the Princess of Wales chose to wear white.
“White is a color that not only symbolizes new beginnings, but also a meaning of hope, change and purity,” says Amber.
“In the English language, white is often used as an abbreviation for good, and what we are all hoping for now is positive news about the princess’s health.”
The fashion professional also points out that another reassuring message that Kate’s outfit choice portrayed was “continuity”.
Amber explains: “Instead of choosing to wear something new, the princess chose to wear a dress that was last seen in May 2023, during the King’s coronation weekend.
“We know that Kate is known for recycling her looks.
“She frequently re-wears her rotation of designer looks for official engagements.
“And Saturday was no exception.
White is a color that not only symbolizes new beginnings, but also stands for hope, change, and purity.

“This nod to normality was an attempt to reassure the public that although it may not be a return to ‘business as usual’ just yet, hope is certainly on the horizon.”
Meanwhile, some eagle-eyed royal fans noticed Kate’s adorable nod to her youngest son, Prince Louis.
