PRINCE William attended Royal Ascot today and was spotted sharing a touching moment with his mother-in-law, Carole Middleton.

Photos taken from Prince in Wales and your in-laws show just how strong your family bond is, according to body language expert Judi James.

William appeared at the event without Kate but was spotted talking to Carole and Zara Tindall looking at ease, Judi said.

She explained: “There’s something about William’s big top hat that gives him the look of a student here and that seems to have sweetly triggered some motherly-looking body language responses from his mother-in-law Carole and his cousin Zara.”

“Standing close enough to signal them as a very relaxed and close family unit, Carole’s attention is firmly focused on William as she listens to him speak, showing signs of active listening and making
this feels like a deeper, warmer, more affectionate conversation than just Ascot small talk.

“With Zara and Carole present, William’s facial expressions suggest some significant matter as his eyebrows are raised and his hand is raised in a ‘claw’ fashion to help make his point.

“Zara’s touch ritual suggests high levels of support, care and maternal bonding.

“Standing in a happily complacent pose with his lower lip pursed as he looks at the two women, William clocks while Zara appears to reach out to touch or draw attention to her lapel pins, showing them to Carole like two proud aunts at the school open day.

“In terms of royal status and pecking order, this is a natural substitution for subtly empathetic displays from two women clearly interested in ensuring William’s awareness of their support and affection as a family.”

William and Carole were also seen together on the porch, looking happy and comfortable in each other’s company, Judi continued.

“It’s so clear that the presence of Kate’s mother and father, who have played a very parental role in William’s life, creates what feels like a safe place for William to relax and have fun after all the worries about his wife’s illness. . ” she explained.

In fact, William looked like his youngest son, Prince Louis, with his “funny, open-mouthed display of laughter,” Judi said.

Although Kate didn’t appear at Royal Ascot, she made her long-awaited return just a few days ago.

Kate, 42, made sure her father-in-law remained the focus during Trooping the Color, Judi previously told Fabulous.

“In a tradition created by her husband’s grandmother, Kate’s body language here showed the world what it means to be royal: elegant, calm and stoic, without the slightest hint of self-pity or drama.

These are unprecedented times – but shoulder-to-shoulder King and Kate prove they’re fighting together, royal expert

“Kate’s nonverbal messages seem to signal a smiling determination to reassure the public and her own children and to get on with the work.

“She made it clear in her written message that this is a step toward return, not the beginning, but even from the glimpses of her in the carriage, her straight back and signature smile showed a desire to show resilience and poise.”

And Judi says Kate’s outfit choice may have been a deliberate attempt to divert attention from herself.

“There was a touch of discretion or perhaps a desire not to overshadow the way the brim of Kate’s hat was angled to partially hide her face in the carriage, but there were some smiles and some smiling conversations with her three children,” she adds.

“His wave to the crown involved closed rather than open fingers and was a quick and subtle movement of recognition, again suggesting a desire to avoid stealing attention at the king’s birthday celebration.”
