PRINCE George became a fan of rockers Queen – when they performed for his great-grandmother.

His mother, Kate, said the young royal, now ten, has fond memories of the rock band’s appearance at the 2022 show.

However, he was confused about who was the singer and who played the guitar, she added.

Guitarist Brian May, 76, drummer Roger Taylor, 74, and American singer Adam Lambert, 42, opened with their hit We Will Rock You in front of Buckingham Palace as the late Queen Elizabeth celebrated 70 years on the throne.

Adam, who replaced Freddie Mercury, discovered the royal recruit to the group’s legion of fans when talking to the Princess of Wales at last year’s Christmas mass at Westminster Abbey.

He said: “It was a great honor. I met Princess Kate, which was fabulous. She was absolutely adorable and even Earth is charming.

“She was talking about her son remembering performing with the Queen at the Palace for the Platinum Jubilee two years earlier.

“She was, like, ‘Oh, is Adam going to play guitar?’

“She said, ‘I think he was confused about who was playing guitar and who was who, but he remembered who you were.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cute.’

It was understood that Kate was referring to George, who is eight years old in 2022.

Adam, whose EP Afters was released next week, said of her: “You could tell she really wanted to take a second to connect and say thank you.”
