KING Charles senior gardener has shared his top three plants you can buy for your garden that will instantly transform your space for less than £10.
Jack Stooks, who currently works at Highgrove Estate, revealed that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a garden fit for royalty.
Clematis
Speaking to Fabulous in association with Alt Index, the royal team member shared, “I always recommend whatever height you want, like a clematis, which is actually really nice.
“Montana Clematis — they normally like pink or white — and once you get them and they climb up and over a wall or fence, they do amazing and keep showing up year after year after year.
“I mean, they’re very generous and cost about £8 to £10 depending on where you get them.
“In a supermarket you sometimes see them with really good deals for around £6, so they are very, very reasonably priced.”
Hydrangea Annabelle
The second plant Jack recommended for being “big and fluffy” is a Hydrangea Annabelle.
He explained: “Hydrangeas like ericaceous soil, but Hydrangea Annabelle tends to do really well in most soils and has really big, fluffy white flowers.”
One of the best characteristics about this plant is that it “gives a little extra” when it comes to seedlings, according to Jack
He explained: “What it tends to do is just increase in size and get bigger and bigger and bigger and you can actually start cutting off pieces of it and have plants of Father.
“And then you can say to someone ‘oh, I love your plant,’ you can say ‘here’s the baby,’ and you can pass it on to your family and friends.”
Gardening Tips and Tricks

Lavender
The third affordable plant the royal gardener recommended for gardens is lavender, which is “amazing” because of the smell, says Jack.
He said it’s also great because it brings “bees” and wildlife to the garden.
The royal gardener added: “It doesn’t need a lot of watering, it doesn’t need a lot of care.
“And if you put them in the right place – not too wet, but in a good sunny position – they will do a lot of good for you year after year.
“And there are so many different varieties and they always look amazing on the summer.”
